Many banks or payment gateway companies are offering external payment terminals to take the payment from the end customer through EMV pin based or non-pin based transactions. Some countries like India had introduced very innovative payment method called UPI which can be done without any external payment terminal.
Moving towards such digital payments is very positive for the business and the country as it makes the day to day operations much easier and no need to deal with too much cash at the counter. That reduces the risk of handling too much cash.
However it is a good move to use digital payments, it also causes challenges for the merchant to manage two different systems for business operations and for collecting payments. - Step6: Read the transaction reference number from the payment terminal
- Step7: Input the reference number to the invoice to link the payment to invoice
- Step8: Print the receipt
A mistake may happen during any stage due to intentional or due to fatigue. If the cashier punches one digit more by mistake the customer will immediately find it out and ask the cashier to cancel it. If the cashier punches one digit less then the customer might simply walkway without reporting the mistake to the cashier. Both cases are not good. The excess charge will spoil the business reputation and less charge will make the business loss.
